While most types of IT hardware and software need to be purchased by submitting a request through an IT Purchase Request Form, there are several types of item that DOES programs can purchase independently, following DOES’ standard procurement and purchasing policies. These item types include:
- USB, HDMI, and other types of adapter
- Charging cables for phones (but not laptops or computers)
- Screen protectors
- Phone or laptop cases or carrying bags
- Cable ties
- Wipes for cleaning electronics
If you’d like to include some of those items in a broader OIT purchase for other items you may, but you are not obligated to.
