DOES has a number of software and applications that are used by the agency. This guide is intended to provide insight on what some of those common tools are, and how to get access to or help with them.
Software
Access
There are several pieces of software that DOES or DC government has budgeted and purchased an allotment of licenses for.
| Software | Details | How to Get Access |
| Adobe Acrobat Pro | Includes advanced PDF editing/creation tools. DOES users do not need a license just to open/read PDFs. Programs should request licenses sparingly, only for those who need the advanced features. | Submit a DOES Help – IT Help Desk ticket and choose “Software Support” in response to the “What is the Issue” question. A member of the OIT team will review your request. |
| Box | Document storage, intended for use with sensitive files or files that need to be shared with the public. |
Visit dcgov.app.box.com. If you experience access issues, submit a DOES Help – IT Help Desk ticket and choose “Software Support” in response to the “What is the Issue” question. OIT will then submit a ticket to OCTO to troubleshoot access. |
| Power BI Pro | Tools for developing reports, dashboards, and visuals from data. Power BI online is available to all DC.gov users, free of charge. | Visit https://app.powerbigov.us/. |
| Smartsheet | Provides data entry and management tools that can link together forms, spreadsheets, and project management tools. DOES users do not need a license to read content in Smartsheet or submit responses to forms. Licenses are only needed for those who create or edit Smartsheet forms and tables. If you are creating a new Smartsheet workspace be sure to add an OIT team member as an admin. |
Submit a DOES Help – IT Help Desk ticket and choose “Software Support” in response to the “What is the Issue” question. A member of the OIT team will review your request. OYP users needing access to the CRESP Smartsheet app will also need to complete an Application Access Request form in Quickbase. |
Issues
If you are experiencing issues with the above software, please submit a DOES Help – IT Help Desk ticket and choose “Software Support” in response to the “What is the Issue” question. Alternatively, you can email OITHelps@dc.gov, which will generate a ticket.
Enterprise Applications
Access
Many agency applications contain sensitive information that requires appropriate safeguarding in accordance with DOES policy. For each of the following applications, any requests for initial access should be submitted through the Application Access Request form in Quickbase:
- DUTAS (UI Tax)
- Employer Self Service Portal (ESSP)
- FORRS
- OYP (PF3, CRESP)
- PFLBAS
- Tybera
- UI Benefit System (UIBS)
- Virtual One Stop (VOS)
- Workers’ Compensation (ArkCase)
For newly onboarding employees, the employee’s manager is responsible for submitting the access request.
Issues
If you are experiencing issues with the above applications (see exceptions below), other than initial system access, please submit a DOES Help – IT Help Desk ticket and choose “Application Support” in response to the “What is the Issue” question. You will then be prompted to answer two additional questions, including which application. Alternatively, you can email OITHelps@dc.gov, which will generate a ticket.
For DUTAS, if you have feature requests or change requests please instead submit those through the Asana issue management system.
For ESSP issues, please submit issues directly to Sagitec using Neottrack.
Applications Managed Outside DOES
There are several IT systems that users may interface with, but whose troubleshooting is resolved directly between the user and the managing agency. Those systems are listed below, along with who to contact:
